Michelle Gibbs Art
A one-year interactive programme

Become the artistyou’ve always wanted to be

Build the knowledge and personal visual language to become an original artist in your own right.

Two complete programmes to keep, plus a full year of community and personal guidance. A complete art education experience without the university price tag.

The missing connection

You do not need another pile of disconnected tutorials

You may already have watched hours of lessons. You may own more books than you can finish. You have probably saved enough reference images to last a lifetime.

Yet when you begin a painting of your own, the same problems return. The colour loses its life. The composition feels uncertain. You finish, step back, and still cannot see enough of you in the result.

That does not mean you lack talent. You need your learning to connect.

I have loved learning every week with the Vibrant Visions programme. The demonstrations, painting plans, support and advice have been wonderful. I would never have believed so much could be packed into a programme and it would be so much fun.

8 milestones covering the whole painting process

Work from the foundations of colour through to expressive painting, with practical teaching that helps every part connect.

01

Materials and Studio Setup

02

Colour Theory

Turn colour theory into instinct, mix natural harmony and useful greys, and make bolder choices without second-guessing.

03

Creative Expression

Move beyond copying as you use colour to shape atmosphere and make paintings that feel recognisably yours.

04

Use value to turn flat painting into depth and emotion, so the light feels more alive.

07

Technique and Brushwork

Develop looser brushwork through a flexible process that helps you trust your instincts at the easel.

Core programme two

The Secret Language of Art

Learn to read art, then make original work

Learn how to read a painting by seeing how composition, depth, value, edges, light, and atmosphere work together to guide the eye and create feeling.

Study the choices artists make, then bring that knowledge into your own process so you can move beyond copying and create original artwork with clarity and intention.

Inside The Secret Language of Art

6 milestones from seeing clearly to an original painting

Learn to read the structure inside a painting, then use that understanding to plan and complete work guided by your own vision.

01

The Seeing Gap

Train your eye to start seeing like an artist. Break down any scene into shapes, edges, line and space instead of painting the labels your brain supplies.

02

The Inspiration Gap

Stop waiting for inspiration. Build a personal bank of references and subject ideas that gives you something meaningful to paint.

03

The Magic of Composition

Design compositions with intention, placing the focal point and guiding the viewer’s eye so the painting holds attention.

04

Space, Depth and the Art of Edges

Turn a flat canvas into believable space through atmosphere and edges, creating distance while letting the painting breathe.

05

Creating Visual Drama

Plan light and dark before you paint, then use contrast and movement to create work that carries real visual drama.

06

Your Artistic Voice: From Plan to Paint

Bring the whole process together in one original painting from your own vision. You leave with a piece you are proud of and a creative process you can repeat whenever you paint.

Helen Templeton-Cross
The Secret Language of Art is a truly brilliant programme. Michelle has created a course which breaks down everything I needed to know to improve my paintings. It has completely changed how I approach a painting.

One private call every month

Your work. Your questions. Your next step.

Each month, you and Michelle meet for 30 minutes. Look at work in progress, talk through a problem, plan what to work on next, or come back on track after a difficult month.

You will leave with clear priorities and a realistic next step. The call gives you accountability without pressure and support that responds to the artist you are.

The deeper outcome

Becoming original takes more than trying to look different

Original work grows from how you see, what you notice, the choices you repeat, and the decisions you learn to trust.

Bold Immersion gives you the technical understanding to see what is happening in your painting. It also gives you enough time to experiment, receive feedback, return to the principles, and discover which choices feel true to you.

You are not being taught to paint like Michelle. You are learning how to understand your materials, read visual structure, and build a process that supports your own ideas.

The aim is work that feels considered, expressive, and recognisably yours.

A serious, welcoming year

This is for you if you are ready to invest in your painting

You do not need a fine art degree. You do need curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to practise.

01

You paint in acrylic, oil, or mixed media and want a stronger foundation.

02

You have learned from tutorials but want all the pieces to connect.

03

You want honest feedback and personal direction rather than more guesswork.

04

You are ready to make regular time for painting across a full year.

05

You want to move beyond copying and make more original decisions.

06

You value community, live learning, and direct access to an experienced teacher.

A realistic monthInside Bold Immersion

Choose lessons from the two core programmes and work through them at a pace you can sustain. Make time to paint, test an idea, or repeat a demonstration. Join the community and live teaching when it helps. Then bring your work, questions, and priorities to the monthly private call.

Some months will be productive. Some will be messy. A full year gives space for both.

The structure is there to keep you moving, not to make you feel behind.

Meet Michelle

Artist, teacher, and the person supporting your year

I know how much can change when an artist receives clear teaching, honest feedback, and enough time to let the learning settle.

My teaching is practical and personal. I explain the principles, show you how they work in paint, and help you apply them to your own work. I will encourage you, and I will also tell you clearly what needs attention.

Michelle’s feedback on our work is spot on and always offered in a supportive and encouraging style.

Student feedback

Clear teaching. Personal support. Room to grow.

It’s great to have access to the content forever so I can revisit at any time. The course really exceeded my expectations. Michelle was on hand for any queries and to give feedback.

Michelle is a dedicated and talented teacher. Her courses are full of extra exercises and she goes that extra mile to make her students feel excited about being part of the Brush Flow Community.
George AndersonBrush Flow member
I was already on a learning plan covering many of these aspects, but I was floundering alone, trying to guess. I’d compared all the BA Fine Art course content in the UK, along with their recommended texts, but it was aimed differently, not specific to becoming a better painter in terms of technique and storytelling. I’d seen that the old masters all did more than just paint ‘a strawberry’ or ‘a bird’, but I didn’t know how to tap into their expert approach. This course promised a little of that and it delivered that, and so much more. Honestly, thank you very, very much, it’s been absolutely fantastic. I’m in awe of the sheer volume of learning and explanation provided. Every concept was explained and opened my world to new artists. The effort that went into preparing this must have been immense.

Make a clear decision

Still have questions?

If your question is not covered here, send Michelle a message.

Which media does Bold Immersion suit?

The teaching is recommended for acrylic, oil, and mixed-media artists. The principles of composition, value, depth, edges, and visual intention also apply across many painting approaches.

Do I need to be an experienced artist?

No. You need enough interest to practise and a willingness to learn. Newer artists will build strong foundations. More experienced artists can connect their knowledge, strengthen their process, and develop more original work.

How much time should I allow each week?

There is no fixed weekly timetable. Choose a rhythm you can maintain. A focused lesson and a regular painting session each week will keep the learning active. The programmes stay available, and the year-long support helps you return when life interrupts.

What happens on the monthly private call?

The 30-minute call is shaped around your current needs. Bring a painting, a question, a decision you are struggling with, or a goal for the next month. You will finish with a clear next step.

Do I keep the courses?

Yes. Vibrant Visions and The Secret Language of Art include lifetime access. Brush Flow, the private calls, and live event access are included for one year.

Are the live workshops included?

Yes. You can join any live workshop or cohort Michelle holds during your Bold Immersion year at no extra cost.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. Choose one payment of £1,795, six monthly payments of £310, or 12 monthly payments of £167.

What if I’ve already completed one of Michelle’s programmes?

Get in touch at help@michellegibbs.co.uk so we can deduct the price you have already paid from the full Bold Immersion investment.

Can I book a discovery call before joining?

Yes. Use the discovery call button below the pricing options to book a free 20-minute conversation with Michelle. Add your name and email first, then choose a time in the calendar.
