New Abstract Landscape

I’ve just finished a new abstract landscape and I wanted to share a little bit about it with you.

It was inspired by all the playing and exploring I’ve been doing lately for my new mixed media workshop inside Brush Flow. I’ve been encouraging my students to experiment — and push the boundaries a little.

For this piece, I used a mix of materials — vibrant inks, acrylics, acrylic moulding paste for some juicy texture, and a few touches of water-soluble oils to finish it off.

And honestly… it was such a joy to create.

That’s the beautiful thing about experimenting — you never quite know where it’s going to lead. You open the doors to new textures, new layers, new ways of seeing and feeling the landscape.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to look like anything specific. It’s more about feeling your way through the paint, trusting the process, and letting the materials guide you.

That’s what this painting felt like — letting go of the “rules” a bit and just responding to what was happening on the surface.

And psst… I’ve got something else in the works too.

A brand new workshop is coming soon and I can’t wait to share it with you. So keep your eyes peeled — it’s one I think you’re going to love.

So tell me — what have you been working on lately?

Have you been trying anything new in your own practice?

Let me know in the comments — I’d love to hear all about it.
